Myland Partners Business Development Manager
My name is Callum MacFarlane and I work for Myland Partners. Being the business development manager I specialize in investment sales and acquisitions of development projects. I also scout for potential new land development sites. It’s an incredibly exciting and varied role with plenty of challenges and huge satisfaction seeing the end product.
What is your passion with what you do?
Seeing the whole journey from start to finish. The first time we go to a development site it’s a farm with the owner, rolling hills and cows – you get to see it progress from the farmer to the developer who buys the land and the investors and builders to first home buyers eventually taking their children to school in the morning. My passion is seeing the progression from one big property to many homes and one big new community – it’s exciting to be a part of.
Why builders and investors keep working with us
We masterplan the entire subdivision – builders don’t need to go through the time or expense of using an architect as we individually design every house for them. We generally make sure the building platforms are flat, and we give resource consent to every house, so eliminating this process makes the builders or investors life so much easier. They will need to complete a building consent but other than that the hard work is done. We’re like a one-stop-shop for everything really, we alleviate risk by the extra steps we take.
The Cardinal West site
It has a beautiful country outlook and had previously been farmed for 40 years by the one family. The land has a beautiful peaceful rolling contour and has a water feature that runs through the development. We already have a planted pathway in place and residents are going to enjoy walking, biking or scootering alongside the water.
Why invest in Redhills, Massey?
Now that we have homes occupied in Cardinal West investors will have confidence that we have a proven market product. The community is developing and residents are going about their lives and are enjoying being the first of many home owners.
The residential population in Redhills is forecast to develop rapidly and activity is already in place to accommodate the growth. A new school is projected to open in 2023 and recently a stunning newly designed destination playgroup was opened to service the families in the area. This is an area of Auckland that will attract families with many new opportunities for excellent schooling and leisure activities.
Costco is set to open in the next few months which is a huge drawcard for the area and the Costco petrol station is already a hit for locals and visitors to the area.
If you love dining out there’s a swath of dining options from Japanese to take out, burger bars and an extensive Chinese food market also opening in the next few months.
This will be a rapidly sought-after location to live and raise a family so now is a great time to invest and secure your future.
The Stockman site
It has a beautiful country aspect, and in particular a beautiful feature is the natural river that runs through the middle part of the site – we will accentuate that with walkways and planting for residents to walk round and enjoy.
Why invest in Pukekohe?
Pukekohe has a pre-existing community, it has schools, a racecourse, a shopping center, a stadium – compared to other areas in South Auckland such as Drury or Karaka, it’s got everything you need and all within minutes to Stockman. It’s slightly more affordable, you get more for your money and close to arterial routes.
Current residential growth
Pukekohe is one of the biggest development areas in Auckland at the moment and you’re buying in a really good area in Pukekohe. You’re super close to the motorway and if you look at the existing subdivision Anselmi Ridge you’ll see we are in one of the more upmarket subdivisions – it’s stunning.
You’re not buying in the middle of lots and lots of houses and the zoning for the outskirts of this land is zoned Future Urban – which means its not going to be developed for a long time. You will have that countryside outlook but be close to town –it’s the best of both worlds.
Through our marketing we naturally create hype and a brand of the area itself and it’s been proven from other subdivisions that the exposure given to the area means there’s more attention to the listings and a better return of their investments.
Buy with us it gives you the certainty of the plans.
