My name is Callum MacFarlane and I work for Myland Partners. Being the business development manager I specialize in investment sales and acquisitions of development projects. I also scout for potential new land development sites. It’s an incredibly exciting and varied role with plenty of challenges and huge satisfaction seeing the end product.

 

What is your passion with what you do?

Seeing the whole journey from start to finish. The first time we go to a development site it’s a farm with the owner, rolling hills and cows – you get to see it progress from the farmer to the developer who buys the land and the investors and builders to first home buyers eventually taking their children to school in the morning. My passion is seeing the progression from one big property to many homes and one big new community – it’s exciting to be a part of.

Why builders and investors keep working with us

We masterplan the entire subdivision – builders don’t need to go through the time or expense of using an architect as we individually design every house for them. We generally make sure the building platforms are flat, and we give resource consent to every house, so eliminating this process makes the builders or investors life so much easier. They will need to complete a building consent but other than that the hard work is done. We’re like a one-stop-shop for everything really, we alleviate risk by the extra steps we take.

It has a beautiful country outlook and had previously been farmed for 40 years by the one family. The land has a beautiful peaceful rolling contour and has a water feature that runs through the development. We already have a planted pathway in place and residents are going to enjoy walking, biking or scootering alongside the water.

Pukekohe has a pre-existing community, it has schools, a racecourse, a shopping center, a stadium – compared to other areas in South Auckland such as Drury or Karaka, it’s got everything you need and all within minutes to Stockman.
